It's Oktoberfest time of year again! We have teamed up with Guglielmo Winery in Morgan Hill for their 1st annual Oktoberfest.

Gunther's Catering is no stranger to this Bavarian festival. We will be serving Smoked Bratwurst, Bockwurst, Red Cabbage, Hot German Potato Salad, and more! Guglielmo Winery will be featuring their award winning wines as well a beer garden. The Internationals will be performing on the main stage. The finest German cars will also be showcased at the Oktoberfest.

We are excited to be part of this fall favorite festival. Please join us on October 17, between 3 -9PM.

In my humble opinion, The Terrace at Willow Glen was dressed to impress this past Saturday night. Many hours of planning and countless details bared their fruits on this last day of Spring.

The bride, Priya, was awesome to work with. She assembled a first class team of Bay Area wedding professionals to carry her vision through.

Blanca Samano, of A Touch of Elegance, took the reigns as the wedding planner. Her work was cut out for her as she coordinated the ceremony and reception. I have had the honor and pleasure of working with Blanca on other occasions. Her demeanor is such that she is not one of these "in your face" coordinators, but of a kind and caring person that remains in control, and is flexible. Any time that Blanca is coordinating a wedding where we are at, I know she has our back, and we gladly have hers! By the way....She also does elegant chair covers, too.

Another key team player was AA Enterprises. Alma Avila and her staff spent about 12 hours the day before the wedding decorating The Terrace at Willow Glen. They provided the draping swag with lights across the ceiling forming a canopy to cover the nearly 6000 square foot banquet room. AA Enterprises provided the crush orange overlays as well as the chair covers. The room looked incredible! Alma consistantly amazes our customers and wows everyone with her work. Alma also provides service staffing and party rentals.

I would also like to include Raffi from Sound in Motion for a huge contribution to the overall look of the room. The aqua color uplighting cans were provided by Sound in Motion. We had worked a fundraiser together a few months ago, and started talking about that the Terrace's ambience would be jazzed up by the addition of his new canned LED lighting. Raffi couldn't have been more right. The bride was absolutely ecstatic when she walked into the room.

Sound in Motion is primarily known for their professional DJ service for weddings, the 49ers, Sharks, Earthquakes, SF Giants, and Stealth. They also offer award-winning videography for any special event. I have personally seen what they can do with their lighting rigs to set the mood for any party, whether it is an elegant wedding, a nightclub scene, or a trip to the stars. It is no less than spectacular.

Everyone was really in for a treat as far as entertainment goes. Mambo Tropical provided live Salsa music. They played three sets and truly got everyone on their feet.

In between the band sets was the DJ music provided by MusicBox Entertainment. The owner, Joe Scaramuzzino performed the gig himself, and did an excellent job! I found it very impressive that he came out and did a site visit a few weeks before the wedding, and was very much into how he could make Robert and Priya's wedding better. This was my first time working with Joe, and hopefully we will work together again in the future.

The flowers for the bridal party and head table were beautifully arranged by Sunshine Flowers. Frank Cabral, the owner, personally designed, delivered, and setup the florals. No wonder we like him, he started off in the wedding business as a caterer!

JASON & NILIAN!!!

The day started off cloudy with showers. The ceremony and reception were taking place a few hours later in the backyard of Jason's parents' home. I have seen some of the nicest wedding sites in the Bay Area, but this backyard in the Saratoga foothills, was one of the most beautiful settings for a wedding ceremony that I have ever seen. As we arrived for setup, the rain had stopped for good. The day turned out to be perfect, not too hot, not too cold. The sun even showed up.

The wedding was for approximately 80 people. The dinner was served buffet style, predicated by passed hors d' oeuvres, and followed with a 4 tiered wedding wedding cake. The linens were chocolate and ivory with orange flowers and accents.

The bride and groom hosted the bar where they provided cocktails, wine, beer, and sodas. We provided one of our BYOB packages. Our BYOB package includes the bar setup w/ coordinating linens, ice, garnish, a variety of glasses, barware, and more. Gary and Marjorie, our two favorite bartenders in the world, were shaking (and stirring) it up for the newlyweds, family, and guests.

Gunther's Catering also arranged and coordinated the rental for the wedding. This included the chairs, tables, linens, dance floor, china, linens, flatware, and more. For 8+ years, A Party Place / Linen Lady in Campbell, has been providing the rental end of our catering service. True, a chivari chair is a chivari, no matter which rental company it comes from. But, the difference here is the customer service. Steve Z., the owner of A Party Place, and his crew have always had my back since day one. As a caterer, our most crucial fellow vendor and ally is the rental company. When other rental companies were riding the wave of the dot com era, and didn't care about customer service, Steve, IMhO, never lost sight of it.

They were married today at The Villa Emile Guglielmo Winery. We had the honor and privilege of catering their wedding reception.

Today's catering at Guglielmo Winery marked the start of our 10th year as being one of their preferred caterers. We are proud and truly blessed to be part of this team. Thank you to the Guglielmo family, the event coordinators (Brooke, Colleen, and Katrina), and all the winery staff for allowing us to be there.

Jenn & Ryan's reception was for about 190 guests under the giant tent on the lawn. The service style was a buffet complete with china and black & white linens.
